Denham House is set in the peaceful countryside of North Devon, in the small hamlet of North Buckland which is about 2 miles from the nearest beach of Putsborough. It is close to lots of family attractions including the magnificent surfing beaches at Croyde and Saunton Sands. It is also within 3 miles of Woolacombe's award-winning beach. Braunton is less than 3 miles away, with the main town of Barnstaple just 8 miles.
Directions:
We are about 45 miles from junction 27 of the M5. Take the A361 heading to Barnstaple. Then the A361 Barnstaple to Ilfracombe road. Continue following signs A361 to Ilfracombe. Go straight through the villages of Braunton and Knowle staying on the A361, 1 mile after Knowle garage, turn left. (It is a very small crossroad and signposted to North Buckland - the sign is directly on the turning). You will cross the old railway line, then negotiate a tight left hand corner between a farmhouse and a tractor shed. The lane rises very steeply until you emerge at the top with North Buckland in view amidst the fields. We are in the middle of the hamlet on the right with a red post box by our railings at the front of the house. The car park entrance is just past the house.
Alternatively, turn left at the traffic lights in Braunton, and follow this road through Saunton and Croyde. There is a stunning view of the bay this way. Go through Croyde to the next village of Georgeham. In Georgeham, take the first right after the village store (Rock Hill), go past the Rock Inn, and follow this lane for about a mile to North Buckland. The road bends sharp right by North Buckland House and we can be seen at the bottom of the lane on the left.
